  • Q Q1: What is plastic injection mold?

    A
A: Plastic injection mold is a specialized tool used to shape molten plastic into specific forms, allowing for high-precision production of plastic parts. It's used across a wide range of industries including aerospace, medical devices, consumer goods, energy, electronics, automotive, robotics, security, toys, and more.
  • Q Q2: Why do plastic injection molds cost so much?

    A
A: Plastic injection molds can be expensive, typically ranging from $2,000 to over $100,000, depending on complexity and size. For example, a simple mold for a small part might cost around $2,000, while a complex mold for automotive components could exceed $50,000.

Plastic injection molds can be expensive due to several key factors:

Quality of Materials: High-quality molds are constructed from premium metals, such as aircraft-grade aluminum or hardened mold steels, which are essential for producing durable and precise parts.
Skilled Labor: Mold makers are highly skilled professionals who often spend years, if not decades, honing their craft. Their expertise is crucial for designing and manufacturing effective molds.
Advanced Tools and Technology: Mold makers require expensive tools, including specialized software, CNC machinery, and precision fixtures, all of which contribute to the overall cost of mold production.
Complexity and Size: The time required to create a mold can vary significantly, ranging from a few days to several weeks, depending on the complexity and size of the end product. More intricate designs naturally increase the time and effort involved.
  • Q Q3: Who owns the tool?

    A
A: At Alpine Mold, our customers own their injection mold tools! After a run is complete, the tool will remain at our facilities. Tools can be shipped to you upon request; however, you will be responsible for any associated shipping and packaging costs. Our engineers will work with you regarding tool compatibility with your equipment if you're unsure.
  • Q Q4: How can I get the quotation?

    A
A: We will submit the quotation in 48 hours if getting detailed information during working days.
In order to quote for you earlier, please provide us the following information together with your inquiry:
1)3D Step of Files and 2D Drawings
    2) Material requirement
    3) Surface treatment
    4) Quantity (per order/per month/annual)
    5) Any special demands or requirements, such as packing, labels, delivery, etc.
  • Q Q5: When can I get the quotation?

    A
A: We usually quote within 2 days after we get your inquiry. If you are very urgent, please call us or tell us in your email so that we can quote for you first.
  • Q Q6: I don't have 3D drawing, how should I start the new project?

    A
A: Please send your sample to our factory, then we can copy or provide you better solutions. please send us pictures or drafts with dimensions(Length,Hight,Width),CAD or 3D file will be made for you if placed order.
  • Q Q7: How about the lead time?

    A
A: Usually mold processing will takes 4-7 weeks depending on the parts' complexity& sizes. Mass production usually takes 1-3 weeks based on order quantity.
