Client Overview



Our client, a product designer, entrusted us with an injection molding project for a wall-mounted power box. The power box consisted of three plastic components, manufactured using PA66 V0 UL-grade material. We produced three sets of molds and manufactured 2000 product enclosures for each set.


PA66 V0 UL Material



PA66 V0 UL-grade material is a flame-retardant nylon reinforced with fibers, renowned for its excellent fire-resistant properties. This material has extensive potential applications in electronic power enclosures and similar fields. To ensure the safety and reliability of the power box, we provided our client with a UL certification and conducted flame retardancy tests.

Plastic Injection Molding Process for Power Boxes


We followed a detailed process to achieve the injection molding of the power boxes:

a. Mold Design and Manufacturing


In collaboration with a professional mold manufacturing factory, we designed and fabricated three sets of molds based on the client's power box design requirements. The molds were made from S136 material, known for its high hardness (HRC50-52), ensuring durability and stability.


b. Raw Material Handling


We strictly controlled the melting temperature and drying level of the PA66 V0 UL-grade material to maintain its quality and stability. During the injection molding process, we ensured even melting and flowability of the material.


c. Injection Molding Operation


We employed high-performance injection molding machines for the molding process. Initially, molten PA66 V0 UL material was injected into the mold cavities through large gates. Then, by controlling parameters such as injection speed, temperature, and pressure, we ensured a smooth filling process.


d. Gate Trimming


After the injection molding was completed, we used CNC equipment to precisely remove the gates. Through meticulous processing, we ensured that gate removal did not cause any damage to the product's appearance or dimensions.
